Power Bite # 11 - Your Mall Directory (Go Shopping Link)

Before we go any further… if you are more of a visual learner, make sure you go through all the MPM 101 How To Videos. We walk through the Back Office with you, giving you screen shots of every single thing. :)
Now that you know the Shopping portion of the Top Menu, it’s time to explore what else is there. Let’s start by seeing what is under the red Go Shopping link:
By Category Search
We think we can be fairly confident that all of you have been to a “Brick & Mortar” Shopping Mall. What’s the first thing you do if you’re not familiar with the Mall? Answer – you find the Mall directory sign. Your Power Mall is exactly the same. You can search for stores that carry the types of products you are looking for by using the CATEGORY SEARCH.
Use the Category Search by moving your cursor to the category you’re interested in. The menu will open to show more specific choices. Click on your choice and the stores in that category will be presented to you.
Each store will show the % or $ rebate amount that a purchase will generate (this amount is spread over the 14 rebate levels). It will also tell you if they pay out on gift cards. Simply click on the store of your choice. And if there is a magnifying glass -- be sure to click on it for important conditions set by the merchant.
For instance, one of the Directory Categories is Home Living & Garden. Move your cursor there and you will see the following Sub-categories:
** Any time a sub-category has an arrow beside it; it means there are more sub-categories to explore.
Take the time to search through every category and see just what is there. You’ll find an exciting new store every time you do. We’ve been at this for years and are still discovering fun things within the Mall!
Pick a Store
Enter just the first 2-3 letters of the name of the store you want, i.e. enter the letters "sea" for Sears. (Avoid typing in the entire name of a store as it may not appear that way in our database and you'll be given a "not found" message.) Click the Find Store button.
Jump to a Store
This is a dropdown list located in the Go Shopping link on the menu at the top of your mall. When you select a store from the list, a new window will open and take you directly to that store where you can make your purchases. Caution: this dropdown works in conjunction with the Ship to Country dropdown list. If you select a new country, the list of stores will change in the Jump to a Store dropdown, listing only those stores which ship to the selected country. PLEASE NOTE: using this feature goes directly to the store and bypasses any conditions (the magnifying glass) we may have listed for that merchant.
Ship To Country
We added this section to make it as easy as possible for our International members to shop in this predominately American mall by identifying the stores that will ship to your country. Click on the blue down arrow and choose a country. A list of stores that ship to that country will appear. The country you used when you signed up for MPM becomes your default country. You can change that list by simply clicking on another country.
Local Merchant Mall
Visit the Local Merchant Mall by clicking on the button on the left side of your Mall (below Live Chat). Here you will find brick and mortar stores in your area who are MPM members. They often list specials for MPM members only. When on that website, you can use the Advanced Search or Categories search. This list will continue to grow as more local merchants join the MPM Family. Only World Changer Mall members can add local merchants – another great reason to upgrade! If you cannot upgrade at this time but have a local merchant you would like to see on the MPM Local Merchant Mall, please contact us through the Contact Us form.
While this next item is not in your menu, it is important for you to know…
Sort Stores Result Page
When you are viewing store pages, you will see Store and Commission columns. Both of these words are also toggle links, meaning you can click on either one once to sort in ascending order. Click the same link again to sort in descending order. For example, if you want to sort by Store Name, click on the Store toggle link and stores will be put in descending order - that is Z to A order. Click it again and the stores are sorted from A-Z. By default, you will see the stores sorted by “Rebate Order” (descending -- that is, highest to lowest).

Shopping Tip: Gift cards may be available in a store on your mall, but that doesn't mean purchasing one will generate a rebate for you -- usually they do NOT! To find the stores that pay out on the purchase of gift cards, go to the Specialty Store link at the top of the page of your MPM Mall and click on Gift Card Stores. BE SURE to click any magnifying glass icons. The Commission field shows you the commission paid on Gift Cards in all store listings – look for the Gift Card icon!
Business Building Tip: Reply to other people's ads and let them know about My Power Mall. There are thousands of ads online that you can reply to. View the person's ad, and then copy down their email address. Use a subject line such as "About Your Ad" or "I'm responding to your ad." (Regina Cintron, Florida)
